The excitement of the holiday season is here and now. Take a moment and see what your next musical Cantala project will entail. It's going to be a party and I'm uber excited...

The promise of Spring is ahead.

The promise of Spring is ahead.

Ave Maria, Francis Poulenc. I have always imagined this piece to have been inspired (and then performed) in a cathedral like in Chartes, France that reflects the pieces sacred, still and haunting atmosphere.

Ave Verum Corpus, Francis Poulenc. An eery piece from Dialogue of the Carmalites and stunning in its delivery.

Petite Voix, Francis Poulenc. 5 unaccompanied 3 part pieces for advanced Women's choir. Sung in French.

Missa Brevis in D, Benjamin Britten. To be performed with Organ. My favourite Missa Brevis in the literature.

Cantique de Jean Racine, Gabriel Faure. A classic rich harmonic piece for choir.

Uberlebengross-Stephen Hatfield. A piece will lots of jazzy syllables and loud percussion.

Allelulia, David McIntyre. A choral piece demonstrating a brilliant use of word rhythm.

Karajan Kotiinjutsu, Veljo Tormis. This piece caught my attention when I was a teen singing in Choir. I remember buying the CD and listening to it over and over again. I am excited to finally bring it to Cantala.

Kaipaava, Trad. Finnish, arr. by Wurorela and Chydenius. Another one of those gorgeous unaccompanied 4+ part women's choir Finnish songs to add to our oeuvre.
